330 ## - Résumé
Résumé It reads like an old-time movie script: Teenager from Anytown, U.S.A. learns to play guitar, gets a record deal, sells a million copies of his first album, and tours the country with the biggest names in the business. For Jonny Lang, the pride of Fargo, North Dakota, it all came true with the release of Lie to Me in January 1997, which hit the streets one day before Lang's 16th birthday. On Lie to Me, Lang combines youthful good looks, genuine guitar talent (the Albert Collins influence is apparent), and a sincere love of music to create a record that is wise beyond his years. Although Lang has yet to blossom fully as a vocalist, he's still smart enough to utilize his other strengths. Relying on restrained production and a good ear, he blends blues, R&B, funk, and rock into an appealing, radio-friendly sound that shatters demographic barriers -- and turned the title track into a hit. Not bad, for a beginner.
